Thank you for visiting the Sioux Falls Open MRI Web Site. Our goals as a professional medical clinic are to produce high-quality MRI imaging for professional diagnosis and to make our patients examinations as relaxing and comfortable as possible.
With the Hitachi Airis II, we have been able to successfully meet our goals of accommodating both the physician and the patient. The Open-air design of the Airis II, has a quiet and truly open, patient-friendly design. This design helps relieve discomforts associated with most MRI exams. The following is a list of situations that have traditionally resulted in an incomplete exam in closed MRI scanners. Sioux Falls Open MRI has been very successful at treating these following situations with our Open MRI scanner:
Claustrophobia
A remarkable new permanent magnet technology is used in the place of common "tunnel type" super conductive design. Our open, spacious magnet is designed to provide the highest degree of patient comfort.
Physically Challenged
The open-air characteristics of the Hitachi Airis II, the spacious examination room, and the convenient "drive-up to the door" access make it fast and easy to accommodate elderly or physically challenged patients.
Large and Oversize
With one of the largest openings currently available in the MRI industry, patients who could not have been imaged with other systems can now be evaluated. Weights of to 450 lbs. are easily accommodated.
Young and Small Children
In a closed "tunnel" MRI scanner, small children are sedated for most MRI exams. However, with the oversized aperture of the Open MRI scanner along with the spacious examination room, parents are able to sit beside their child to help support them throughout the exam. Sedation in most cases is unnecessary with the Open MRI..
Our professional technologist is used to helping patients that feel apprehensive. Almost all of our patients say that their MRI exam was much easier than they expected. This is just one of the many reasons patients travel long distances to Sioux Falls Open MRI.
